EmployeeSight

Product 02 · Workforce

See how work actually happens.

Workforce intelligence that respects your people. Time tracking, productivity insights, project hours — built so your team trusts the instrument and you trust the data.

Trust by design

Privacy is the product, not a setting.

Workforce intelligence is only useful if your team trusts the instrument. EmployeeSight shows employees exactly what is and isn’t tracked, gives every employee a private-hours toggle that produces zero data, and ships with screenshots off by default. You can defend it to your team because there’s no fine print.

What we track

Enough to be useful.

  • Hours you choose to log on a project
  • App / website categories during work blocks
  • Idle vs active time within a tracked block
  • Screenshots — only if you turn them on

What we don’t

By default. Configurable per policy.

  • Keystrokes, mouse movements, cursor position
  • Anything during private hours — zero record on the server, by design
  • Personal logins, banking, healthcare apps — category-blocked regardless of policy
  • Activity on personal devices we don't have an agent installed on
Per-employee opt-outDPDP Act 2023 compliantAudit log every admin action

01 · Time tracking

Hours that show up because the team chose to log them.

Manual or auto. Per project, per client, per task. The activity timeline respects the team’s private hours and surfaces no detail inside them. Reports your finance team will accept, without the engineer revolt.

  • Manual + auto modes
  • Per project, per client
  • Private blocks invisible
  • Slack-driven logging

Trends, not surveillance.

A 90-day productivity score that combines focused hours, collaboration hours, and project velocity. Trends are surfaced. Individual snapshots are not. Managers see direction; employees see context for their own work.

Questions teams ask before they roll out tracking.

How is this different from TimeChamp or Hubstaff?

The shortest version: defaults. Screenshots are off. Keystrokes are never captured. Private hours produce zero records. We surface trends, not minute-by-minute surveillance. See vs TimeChamp for specifics.

Question 1 of 8
Can an employee opt out completely?

Yes. Per-employee opt-out is one click in their settings. Admins can require tracking for specific projects (e.g., billable client work), but blanket all-day tracking is a deliberate decision the admin has to make and the team is shown.

Question 2 of 8
What counts as 'private hours'?

Any block of time the employee marks private. During that window, no activity is recorded, no idle detection runs, no screenshots are taken. The time block shows up in the day’s timeline as a labelled private block — the employee’s manager sees that hours were private, not what happened.

Question 3 of 8
If screenshots are off by default, can we ever turn them on?

Yes — for specific projects, with explicit employee consent recorded. We won’t let an admin silently enable screenshots across the team. Audit log entries make every screenshot setting change visible.

Question 4 of 8
Does this work on macOS, Windows, and Linux?

Yes, with a desktop app for each, plus a mobile companion for manual logging. The desktop apps are open-source on the client side so anyone can audit what they collect.

Question 5 of 8
Can the team see what their manager sees?

Employees see their own data in full and an anonymised team view of aggregate hours. Managers see per-team trends. Cross-team comparisons require an admin role.

Question 6 of 8
DPDP — covered?

Yes. DPDP Act 2023 (India) compliant. The DPA is at /legal/dpa, and our security posture is at /security.

Question 7 of 8
How does this play with EmployeeSight HR?

Buy the platform and the two products stop pretending to be separate. Attendance flows into payroll, productivity reports respect leave, and one employee record covers both. See /platform.

Question 8 of 8
